This was such an endearing book of love, forgiveness, family, suspense, surprises and miracles. It was a hard book to put down. I really enjoyed how they brought the characters from her other series of Angels Bay into the story. I have loved this series so much. Seems like each book gets better and better. I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. Excellent romance, drama.

This book hooked me right from the beginning, and kept my full attention right until the very last page. I just couldn't put this book down, not even for a brief second.There are so many twists and turns, some that are sure to make your head spin. The suspense was so fantastic, some of the best stuff I've read so far from any author. But it was the roller coaster of emotions, that really got to me the most. I felt every single emotion these people were going through, almost as much as if all these things were actually happening to me, rather than some fictional character.

I have an autistic grandson, so I know how Nicole & Ryan felt. It can often play real havoc on all the members of family. But I think more so, for the parents of a child who suffers from this devastating disease. It can tear a relationship apart in a heart beat, even a couple like Nicole and Ryan who are still so in love with one another.

I have to give a big Kudo's to Ms. Freethy for tackling some really big issues not only in this book, but the others as well. And what's even more amazing, is that she did it with such finesse.

I love this whole series. I think that's mainly due to the fact, that all the characters in these books seem so real. The situations these characters are put through in this series, are the same things that a lot of us in real life have had to deal with. I also like the fact; that Ms. Freethy can write a great romantic scene, without making it seem smutty. Don't get me wrong, she likes to lead you right up to that point, but then lets the scene fade away, letting readers imaginations take it where they will.

I would highly recommend not only this book, but the whole series, as well.
A lovely story about 2 families whose sons were kidnapped. One family has an adopted son, Brandon, who is autistic and who rejects contact with people, including his mother and father. As a result of the strain of Brandon’s autism, his parents have separated and planning to divorce.

The second family has Kyle, whose adoptive mother and father have died. Before his death, Kyles father remarried and he now lives with his mother, the second wife.

Until the kidnappings, neither adoptive family knew their son was a twin, but the boys seemed to respond to each other immediately.

This is a story of family with all its uncertainties, pain, history and yearnings. A very enjoyable read.
Between Now and Forever by Barbara Freethy was an intense and emotional read.

I was happy to find out more about Nicole and Ryan, who we have seen glimpses of in previous books in this series. I liked that they are a mature couple, dealing with some very realistic issues, confusion, and feelings. A horrible event pulls them back together, and as they fight for their son, they begin to realize what they had might not be lost after all. But is it too late? Will they get a second chance at not only love with each other but as a family?

I saw a lot of character development in Between Now and Forever. Both Nicole and Ryan developed more insight into one another, and it is obvious from the start that they still love one another very much. I was very interested to see how they would work through their issues, or even if they could. As they are dealing with this, they are also going through every parents worst nightmare. It is a lot to cope with, and Nicole and Ryan seemed to come together very well. I liked how this was done, how they handled situations and there was a real lack of blame for either of them. There was more of a feeling of sorrow mixed with uncertainty, but at the same time hope.

I loved the setting of this book, because I've read Barbara's Angel's Bay books (completely different stories, but same setting!). I loved the bit of history that made the place unique.

It was great to see more of the Calloway's in Between Now and Forever...there are little hints of what's to come, but Barbara left me satisfied with this story and ready for more! There are some strong secondary characters who blend in well and are very relevant as the plot unfolds.

Very well written and easy to fall into, with believable and likable characters, I'd recommend Between Now and Forever to any romance reader.
